Gold Shysters Are Coming !

    Another of our good sources is Richard Maybury, whose newsletter, U.S. and World Early Warning Report, is a gold mine of information about the signs of the times throughout the world.

    Mr. Maybury warns us this month that gold and silver are always good to have in a time when inflation is likely to hit with a vengeance. But! He Cautions:

Do not buy bars (or ingots, blocks, bricks, whatever). Stick to coins. Here's why.

When precious metals markets are quiet, the bars are fine. But when a big monetary crisis approaches, and the whole country or world begins to stampede into these metals, swindlers come out of the woodwork to take advantage of the ignorant.

One common rip-off is to drill out an ingot, fill the cavity with lead, then sell the gold, silver or platinum shavings that were drilled out. A skilled crook can close the drill holes so smoothly it's very difficult to tell the bar is packed with lead.

Coins are small, difficult to "drill-and-fill," and issued by governments, who are monopolists, and ruthless with free lancers debasing their coinage.

Before you buy something, always think about how you will sell it. Knowledgeable investors know about drill-and-fill, so the higher precious metals rise, the more difficult it may be to sell your bars.

At the moment, things are quiet. If you already have bars, this is a good time to trade them for bullion coins.
