A Hostage Situation May Be Coming Your Way !
Kong Sez:
Folks! You know things are getting very rough for many people out there. Mr. Ugly Is Arriving and will be met with reinforcements. You want to get ready for hostage situations. Dr. Brocato has on his WebSite: Hostage Situations, to help protect you and yours.
Here, are a few more suggestions from Mr. "B," since posting the above document, that just may save your life, as well as your loved one's life. You need to talk this over with those in your family, group, covenant community and practice with toy guns.
Dr. Brocato gives this additional idea. If you are taken hostage, look for the moment you can drop to the ground, or make some maneuver/action, giving the hostage shooter the opportunity to take the most opportune shot.
You, playing the hostage shooter, must stay alert for the action and take the shot!
You both must be well–practiced in this modality, thinking, and action.
Get legal (CCW)! Alway carry...legally. Observe proscriptions and prescriptions.
Carry a "New York Reload" — A backup! Carry a weapon big enough to do the job...No .22s or .380s. You want a big enough hole to let in plenty of air and out plenty of body fluids. You want a good "pneumothroax" hole if projectiles go here.
"A condition in which air or other gas is present in the pleural cavity and which occurs spontaneously as a result of disease or injury of lung tissue, rupture of air-filled pulmonary cysts, or puncture of the chest wall or is induced as a therapeutic measure to collapse the lung" — Merrian–Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary.
Ammunition is disappearing or has disappeared. Your WebMaster says go to the range and using some of what you have, start practicing hostage head shots with target mannequins that have hostage and hostage taker. You'll be glad you did. Start now whether cold or hot! "Time is Up," Brocato asserts!
"A lot of people are going to go down, because the hostage shooter does not know what to do," Brocato remarks. The hostage shooter misses the "opening." The hostage shooter is in target fixation and does not see the opportunity.
If you know—and we all do—the braggadocio who can take care of "anything," or, he/she has a gun; a Concealed Carry License (CCW), but doesn't know a thing about combat self–defensive shooting for civilians, especially involving Hostage Situations, then do nothing but await your opportunity. Don't depend on that person. They'll just get you killed! Also, beware the person waiting for the proper moment to open up for the shot. It never comes and they often start hosing the Hostager Taker, with you getting hosed too. Practice and watch how the person shoots under combat conditions. This will tell you a lot.
In every situation, opportunities open and close several times. An accomplished Hostage Taker (HT) knows this; he will try to control it, but often can't. That is why many of the HTs move their subjects into a vault (if in a bank); freezer or store room in the back of a store, if possible, and then summarily start their Killing Mechanism of those not necessary for their gain. You can't wait. You must seize the opportunity when it presents itself. By practicing and taking courses in such, you develop a sense of awareness when the opportunity presents itself. You can't question it in a committee.
However, the opposite can be true. The Hostage Shooter knows what, when, and how to do it. But, the hostage is too scared and unpracticed/unrehearsed to help the Shooter. If you are the hostage, and if help is present, help the help! Don't stand there screaming your head off; or, just frozen into position and moving only when the HT moves you. Be well–rehearsed in mind and action, and do it. If you do not help the helper (Hostage Shooter), he may never get off the deciding shot.
Mr. "B" points out the reason a lot of cops and crooks are shot in the hand is because people focus on the gun when under such circumstances. This is a form of Target Fixation. Know what you're going to do and do it; but, able to change action in a split second.
Take full advantage of your training by using recall under quiet circumstances and mental role playing. Neural connections are formed if the act is performed at least 2,000 times physically and/or in one's head.
